Darts Festival: November 1 - November 11, 2014

BRYDENSTOKES BARBADOS DARTS                  FESTIVAL SET FOR RECORD NUMBERS

The unprecedented wet winter in the UK and the recent icy blasts experienced by those living in the USA and Canada makes participation in the BrydenStokes Barbados Darts Festival in November and even more attractive proposition this year - and record numbers are expected to attend from these countries.

"Not only are a good number of the 2013 participants returning but they have spread the word to their darting circles.  And, who, in their right mind, would not want to swap a damp chilly northern hemisphere November for ten days or two weeks on a sun-drenched Caribbean island?" says Festival Director, Michael Heal.

Now in its 12th year, the Festival itinerary has been refined to provide darts players of all standards, and their partners and family members with a memorable experience designed to banish winter gloom.

As well as a mixed programme of social and tournament darts participants also get ample opportunity to enjoy all those things for which Barbados is justifiably world famous - the clear, warm, azure blue ocean, the soft, white, fine sandy beaches and a climate far removed from that associated with the UK, USA and Canada in November.

An integral part of the BrydenStokes Barbados Darts Festival is the chance to meet and play against darts players from Barbados and other Caribbean & South American countries who arrive in Barbados to take part in the major tournaments over the weekend of November 7 - 9.  These are staged at the well appointed Solidarity House which has air conditioning and offers a range of drinks from the title sponsors at extremely generous prices!

A good number of those who took the honours in 2013 are returning to defend their titles including Brits Peter Ward, John Downes and Shereen Downes.  Barbados is also a favourite holiday destination for Canadians and there has been a growing contingent of participants from the land of the Maple leaf.

Festival Director Michael Heal is delighted with the way the Festival has evolved.
"We could not stage an event of this kind and make it so accessible and affordable for participants without the support from sponsors like BrydenStokes and Harrows.  Further support from organisations such as The Barbados Tourism Authority and The Tourism Development Corporation are also essential to provide all the elements needed to stage it".

The BrydenStokes Barbados Darts Festival takes place from Nov 1 - 11.
