The 14th Keith Boyce Memorial Cricket Tournament to commence March 1, 2020

February 28, 2020: The Keith Boyce Memorial Cricket Tournament Committee announces the commencement of the (KBMCT) on March 1, 2020. This year, 2020, marks the 14th edition of the tournament which was first conceptualized to:
i) Develop cricketers in the north of the island;
ii) Aid in the preparation of teams for their participation in the annual BCA and BCL tournaments;
iii) Identifying and assist young players of the tournament who show excellence in their academic and cricketing performance.
In keeping with the objective of youth development, each team is required to include at least one Under-19 player in each game of this year’s tournament.

The thirty five (35) overs tournament welcomes the participation of 19 teams this year, who in the initial stage will contest the tournament across three zones named in honour of Dave Cumberbatch, Donovan Lopez and Corey Collymore – three protégés of Keith Boyce.

The first series will be held on Sunday March 1, 2020 with the following matches:

The tournament continues on consecutive Sundays in a round-robin format in each zone, with the Quarter Finals and Semi Finals scheduled for April 12 and 19, 2020, respectively.

On Heroes Day, April 28, 2020, the Final will be played at Diamond Corner, St. Peter which is the home of the Keith Boyce Pavilion.

ABOUT KEITH BOYCE
The late Keith Boyce was born at Castle in St. Peter and was an outstanding cricketer who went on to represent Barbados, West Indies and Essex County as a professional in England.

Up until his death on October 11, 1996, Keith Boyce played an important role in developing young people through cricket coaching and mentorship.

The KBMCT was conceptualized to pay tribute to Keith Boyce and to preserve his legacy, and in so doing achieve the aforementioned objectives.
