Organised by the Barbados Auto Racing League (BARL), the Digicel Williams International Race Meet is the highlight of the annual calendar at the island’s 0.8-mile Bushy Park racetrack. It features the second round of the 2012 Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championship, which starts in Jamaica (May) and concludes in Guyana (November). The cream of the region’s Group 4 competitors, equipped with ever-more sophisticated machinery, battle for both Driver and Country crowns; the supporting programme includes CMRC races for Group 2 cars, also Motorcycles – each category races three times, on a schedule typically running to 28 races.
