The next fixture of the annual Rugby Americas North (RAN) tournament will take place at the Historic Garrison Savannah on Saturday May 21, 2016 with kick off scheduled for 3:30pm. The match is between archrivals Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago, in the latest installment of “Callaloo vs Coocoo” rugby XVs style.
This crucial fixture is scheduled to be streamed live via the internet compliments of WISports and FLOW. The action should be fierce and entertaining, with lots of supporters from both countries expected to attend.
This fixture is also a Rugby World Cup 2019 qualifier and both teams will be eager to prove themselves to their coaches, the countrymen and the entire world. On March 23, the Bajans went down heavily 48-17 to Guyana, while Trinidad defeated Jamaica 34-14. The men in ultramarine and gold are still smarting and fired up by their defeat and are determined not to lose again on May 21.
Also scheduled for May 21, Mexico v Bermuda, Cayman v Bahamas and Guyana v Jamaica.
In related RAN news, Jamaica punished St. Vincent 48-0 on March 5, while Mexico trounced Bahamas 39-3 on May 7.
