West Indies Masters easily won the Clobi Cup after winning the first two matches in the three-match series at the Kensington Oval. Several thousand spectators attended each game and were treated to some vintage cricket from the fitter and more focused Caribbean team. Gordon Greenidge and Curtley Ambrose were big favourites with the fans, but the England team was a huge disappointment and never really tested their Caribbean opponents. The final game last Tuesday was robbed of an exciting finish when a one-hour thunderstorm sent the players rushing to the pavilion for cover. The magnificent Kensington Oval pitch absorbed the deluge but the cricket action was washed out.
