BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Officials of the West Indies Cricket Board have explained the policy regarding the admittance of children under the age of 16 for international matches.

WICB Events Manager Cindy McLean said children’s tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and are available as long as stocks last.

“Unfortunately, some people have brought children along to the matches with the expectation of entering the ground without tickets,” she said.

“As has always been the case, children’s tickets are free of cost, but are only obtained with the purchase of an adult ticket.”

High attendances have marked the Digicel 2012 Series between West Indies and Australia and the trend looked set to continue for the second and final Digicel Twenty20 International on Friday at the historic Kensington Oval.

“We continue to be amazed at the crowd support for the Digicel 2012 Series,” said WICB Events Manager Cindy McLean.

“We all know that the game remains the passion of the people of the Caribbean, but it is always nice to see that passion reflected in fans at the matches.”

McLean said the WICB was heavily invested in bringing cricket fans back to the game and hoped to see the fans continue supporting the remaining of the Digicel 2012 Series.

Barbados is also scheduled to stage the first of three Digicel Tests between the two sides, starting on Saturday, April 7.
