Many of the leading sports performers and personalities packed into the
Frank Collymore Hall last Saturday evening for the National Sports Council
Awards. The winners spanned a wide range of sporting achievements with the
principal awards going to former world 110 metres hurdles sprinter Ryan
Brathwaite and the emerging female surfer Chelsea Tuach. Minister of Sport
and Culture Stephen Lashley's Special Award went to cricket opening bowler
Kemar Roach currently in Australia with the West Indies team.
But there was no doubting the most entertaining part of the evening after
the Rev. Sir Wesley Hall delivered a captivating Feature Address that was
simply superb.
