The Barbados Tridents added the Red Steel scalp to their fine start to the 2015 CPL season and made it three wins from three starts. Red Steel won the toss and elected to bat but they got off to a disastrous losing their first four wickets for only three runs. Man-of-the-Match Jason Holder (3-11) did the early damage and the visitors never recovered, much like last year when they had another horror batting display. They totalled 95-9 and then the Tridents’ openers Dwayne Smith (33) and Dilshan Munaweera (39) made light work of the reply even if they failed to seal the victory while at the crease. Both fell off successive balls on 72 but by that time the match was all but over and Shoaib Malik and Jonathan Carter finished the job to record an easy eight wickets win with five overs not needed. Well done the Tridents and skipper Keiron Pollard who was once again superb throughout the game.
