Bridgetown, Barbados – October 28, 2025: The 22nd staging of the Diamonds International x Rotary Club of Barbados West Charity Golf Classic teed off in grand style on Sunday, October 26th, 2025, at the prestigious Royal Westmoreland Golf Club. What was planned for 18 teams grew to an outstanding 21 teams — a clear reflection of the tournament’s growing popularity and the unwavering generosity of Corporate Barbados and the local golfing community.
Far more than a tournament, the Charity Golf Classic continues to stand as a celebration of fellowship, community, and purpose. Since its inception 23 years ago, the event has raised over $2.7 million, supporting the Club’s investment in transformative community projects across Barbados. These include the refurbishment of the Pediatric Ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), the establishment of the Renal Dialysis Unit, school breakfast programs, tertiary scholarships, microbusiness grants, and vital assistance to children living with dyslexia through the Caribbean Dyslexia Centre.
This year’s proceeds will advance the Rotary Club of Barbados West’s “Clear Vision, Bright Futures” initiative via application of a Rotary International Global Grant, aimed at preventing avoidable vision loss in Barbados. Central to this mission is the acquisition of the Optos California Ultra-widefield (UWF) Camera, a cutting-edge diagnostic tool valued at $270,000 that will significantly enhance the management and treatment of retinal disease at the QEH Eye Clinic. Given the high prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension locally, this investment will help safeguard the eyesight of countless Barbadians, offering the gift of vision and the promise of brighter futures.

Rotary Club of Barbados West President Andre’ Wharton commended the tremendous show of support:
“Your participation and generosity have made it possible for us to continue fulfilling the mission of Rotary: to serve, to uplift, and to create lasting change in the lives of those who need it most.
