Andre Walcott added a third Champion Driver crown to his cv last year. He repeated his 2017 title-winning success in Bushy Park Motorsports Inc’s Championship (BPMSI), to bracket his Barbados Association of Dragsters & Drifters (BADD) title of 2018. Along with the Club’s other winners, he received his spoils from Michelle King of Motorsport Services (pictured above by Corey Reece) at the BPMSI Prizegiving in the Open-Air Suites on Friday, March 6.

Beaten only once in the season’s nine races in Group 1 Class 1, Walcott amassed a total of 135 points to claim his second BPMSI title by 17 points from Tyrone Martindale, who won Group 2 Class 2 in his Honda CRX. Kenrick Husbands, who won Group 3 in his Toyota Starlet, finished third overall with 99 points, another 19 behind. The top five overall was completed by William Jones (Nissan), who finished second to Walcott in Group 1 Class 2, and Ross Callender, who won Group 2 Class 1, the best-subscribed class, in his Daihatsu Charmant.

Tremaine Forde-Catwell (Charmant) finished sixth overall, second to Husbands in Group 3, with Darren Lashley (Honda Integra) seventh and second in Group 2 Class 2 behind Martindale. Group 4 winner Mark Maloney (Mazda RX-3) finished eighth overall, while Suleman Esuf (Civic) and Jermin Pope (Civic) finished equal ninth, Esuf third in Group 2 Class 2 after Martindale and Pope second to Callender in Group 2 Class 1. Robert Gill (Starlet), who won Group 1 Class 2, was the only class-winner not to figure in the overall top 10.
