Barbados Minister of Tourism Hon. Richard Sealy launched the new Sporting Barbados website at World Travel Market this afternoon with UK Vice President Sales and Marketing Petra Roach and other tourism dignitaries in attendance.

The 15th Edition of this unique sports tourism publication was launched earlier in the morning at the Barbados stand, which this year features a strong sporting culture looking towards 2012. Sporting Barbados is an annual top-class glossy magazine that has done much to encourage visitors to the island by promoting the sporting and leisure attributes of this beautiful Caribbean paradise.  A full copy of the magazine is available on the website, but the owners Hiltop Publications have invested heavily in building the dynamic of the electronic version with much more detail on events and things happening to keep browsers totally up-to-date and encouraged to come to the island on a sporting holiday.

Managing Director Pamela Hiles explained;

“We acknowledge the great advances in Internet marketing and while there will always be a place for glossy publications, more and more people are browsing the Internet for instant information from their home computer and looking for something different. Our new website has embraced this culture with more information on forthcoming events and, in particular, details about the actual events and their background. Browsers will be enticed by the general information and depending on  the extent of their interest, they can move to different levels of information in seconds and hopefully choose Barbados. As always, the site is packed with vibrant colourful images and photographs as well as information on accommodation, activities, shopping, car hire and island life.”

“The website has been designed locally by Neil Barnard at 809 Design Associates and developed by Caribbean New Media Ltd and the launch is possible with the support of the TDC, the Tourism Development Corporation in Barbados and the Barbados Tourism Authority.

Sporting Barbados is traditionally launched at World Travel Market for the incoming year, but the publishers have lifted their marketing to another level with the introduction of their dynamic new website.
