Minister of Tourism and International Transport Richard Sealy and Barbados Yacht Club Commodore Andrew Hutchinson hosted a Press Reception at the Yacht Club on Friday to herald the start of the activities associated with the 505 World Championships due to start next week. The event is a huge fillip for local tourism and Minister Sealy could not hide his delight at attracting such a prestigious event to the island. All the top 505 sailors in the world will be competing over a week of action and most of it can be seen from the beach at Carlisle Bay.
And for those who don’t know what 505 relates to it is the length of the boat-5.05 metres to be exact!
