Richard Kessio won his second Barbados Marathon in the Powerade Run Barbados Series but not after a lengthy deliberation by the organizers after the brilliant Kenyan runner went off course at Speightstown. Kessio and 2nd-placed Curtis Cox from Trinidad and Tobago were both guilty of the mistake, but having run farther than would have been required the adjudication went in their favour after a protest from 3rd and 4th placed Pamenos Ballentyne (St Vincent and the Grenadines) and Andrew Gutzmore (Jamaica). Despite this small setback the weekend series was another resounding success.
