Teenage Barbadian footballer Jacob Gollop has been named among the Best XI players from the more than 350 who played in the recent 2026 Concacaf U-17 Qualifiers.

Teams from 32 Concacaf Member Associations participated in eight groups during the Qualifiers, with Group winners progressing to the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026. While the National team narrowly failed to qualify, placing second to Mexico in Group A, 16-year-old Gollop's citation is one to make Bajans proud.

Tournament organisers stated: "There were many big performances throughout the Qualifying cycle, yet these 11 stood out the most in their respective positions. The Barbados right back was a key contributor on both ends, logging 315 minutes and accumulating eight tackles. Gollop also scored two goals and had an assist."

Gollop's father Warren said: "We’re incredibly proud of Jacob for this notable recognition. His local team Kickstart Rush and his academy, The Woodstock Academy, have done wonderful work with him."
